HCK Capital Group’s Focus Time had their 9th edition of ‘Without Reservation’ Facebook Live segment with special guest star Tan Sri Clement Hii and Managing Director of the Great Haus Property, Chloe Chee. It was conducted by host Kelvin Ooi.
The founder and Executive Chairman of HCK Capital Group, SEG International Berhad and the Hiichiikok Foundation, Tan Sri made his first guest appearance on ‘Without Reservation’, which is a platform for insightful sharing sessions with individuals from all walks of life.
Despite the current global slowdown, Tan Sri shared on how he, being an optimist, saw the gaps in the property market, and decided to come up with innovative ways to fill those gaps.
Having explored a number of market segments, mainly property and education, he believes that “there are many things in life to expand on, to learn from, and to try to explore”.
Based on current property market trends, Tan Sri believes that now is a good time to get the market back on the right track. With HCK’s Unique Selling Propositions, education cities, they differentiate themselves from other developers who focus mainly on usual aspects like price range and location.
As a developer, he wanted to understand why and how property developers choose properties to purchase. His research showed that buyers make purchases based on certain priorities: to stay in it, to sell at a later time hoping the value appreciates, or to rent it out.
With smart homes and smart cities currently on the plate of the HCK Capital Group developers, he feels that it is a natural progression for residential infrastructures to be powered by technology, such as Google Home and Amazon Alexa.
While they have already created a niche for education cities in the country, HCK feels like they have the potential to soar further, by developing smart homes, starting off in Damansara West.
Aiming to create a project with homes that will change the lives of the residents drastically via Artificial Intelligence (AI), Tan Sri explained, “I believe how we keep our homes reflects our inner selves. Our home isn’t just about furniture or decoration. They’re about emotional safety, security and harmony.”
Today, we are not only living in our homes, we are working in there, too. Parents at home have a new role to create a conducive environment for their children to be educated in. This makes a house a real asset in the years to come.
HCK is looking at a range of RM400,000 t0 RM700,000 for this smart home project, which is very affordable, for the younger generation target market.
With environmental issues being in the forefront of our world today, developers are hoping for more government incentives to build green homes. HCK plans to launch a townhouse project in Semenyih, dubbed as Hiijauan Broga, intending it to be a fully green environment.
With property prices descending further with the rise of the pandemic, Tan Sri feels the property market is not likely to crash anytime soon, due to the current oversupply.
According to Tan Sri, “The world needs a crisis to turn challenges into opportunities. It’s a time where we can see entrepreneurs, the cream of the crop, rising to the top. This is not a bad time to do anything. It’s a time for us to identify the top performers in our midst. It’s a time to see leaders, survivors, emerging among us, forcing us to reinvent the future together.”
