Tan Sri Prof. Dato’ Dr. Marimuthu A/L Thangaveloo was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of HCK on 26 June 2014. He was appointed as the Chairman of the Nominating Committee on 25 November 2014, the Remuneration Committee on 24 March 2015 and the Audit Committee on 5 October 2015.
He is currently the Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of HCK.
He obtained his BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Malaya and his MEd and PhD from the University of Manchester, England. He was formerly the Chairman of Asian Institute of Medicine, Science and Technology University (AIMST) in Kedah, Malaysia.
During his tenure with University of Malaya from 1970 till 1990, he served as the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education, the Head of the Department of Social Foundations, a member of the University Senate and Professor of Social Psychology of Education.
In 1990, Tan Sri Prof. Dato’ Dr. Marimuthu became the Member of Parliament for Teluk Kemang in Negeri Sembilan and was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Malaysia (1994 – 1995). From 1996 to 2002, he was appointed to the Senate and served as the Chairman of the International Relations Committee of the Malaysian Parliament and as the President of the Senators Club.
Datuk Dr. Dennis Ling was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of the Properties Division on 1 March 2017 and redesignated as Executive Director of HCK on 26 November 2018. He was subsequently redesignated as the Group Managing Director, Operations & Oversight on 10 January 2022.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from University of South Australia in 1999. In 2006, he obtained his PhD in Manufacturing Engineering from University of South Australia. Prior to joining HCK Group, Datuk Dr. Dennis Ling worked in various industries in Australia – from automative to semiconductor and building material manufacturing since 2000. He was exposed to various roles from engineering, product development, project management and project procurement. His experience in property includes composite building material technology, property procurement as well as property management.
Datuk Dr. Dennis Ling is the son-in-law of Tan Sri Clement Hii Chii Kok, the Executive Chairman and major shareholder of HCK.
Datuk Dr. Dennis Ling holds a PhD in Manufacturing Engineering and a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical and Manufacturing from Universityof South Australia in 2006 and 1999 respectively. Prior to joining HCK Properties, Dr Ling has been working in various industries in Australia including semiconductor, automotive and building materials manufacturing.
He was exposed to various roles from engineering, procurement, product development and project management. His experience in property involves composite building materials technology and property procurement and property management.
Datuk Clifford Hii Toh Leong was appointed as an Executive Director of HCK on 2 May 2014 and was appointed as a member of the Remuneration Committee on 24 March 2015. He was subsequently re-designated as the Non-Independent and Non- Executive Director on 10 January 2022.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Law Degree from the Queensland University of Technology, Australia.
He was admitted into the Queensland Law Society as a legal practitioner in 2006 and had a short stint in a law firm in Australia before moving back to Malaysia. In 2008, he was admitted into the Bar of Sabah and Sarawak. He obtained a Master of Business Administration from University of Southern Queensland, Australia in 2014. He also obtained a Diploma in Information Technology and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in Australia.
Datuk Clifford Hii has extensive experience in the education, property, and fintech industries, with a total of over 15 years of professional experience. He is currently the Director of Yayasan Hiichiikok, a charitable foundation.
He is the son of Tan Sri Clement Hii Chii Kok, the Executive Chairman and major shareholder of HCK.
Mdm. Wong Wai Tzing or Helen as she is known, holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London.
She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
She began her legal career in 1991 after working as a qualifed company secretary for many years and was made a partner of Cheang
& Ari in 1996. In 1999, she left Cheang & Ari and co-founded a legal rm, Tay & Helen Wong.
She has had a distinguished career in business, government, academia, and law plus stints in corporate and commercial, since 1991. She has covered inter alia, mergers and acquisitions, take-overs, initiated public offerings, joint ventures, collaboration, and franchising
arrangements.
On 31 December 2022, Helen Wong retired as a partner of Tay & Helen Wong, and is now a practicing consultant.
Currently, Mdm. Helen Wong is also an Independent Non-Executive Chairman of HLT Global Bhd.
