The year is almost coming to an end and what better way to celebrate than throwing a party? That’s just what HCK Group corporate (legal and finance), property and food divisions did.
The three divisions gathered on Nov 25 at the ground floor of Wisma HCK after lunch to begin the party preparations. Staff members were seen blowing up balloons, putting up party decoration, constructing the barbecue pit and blending bitter gourd juice for an icebreaker game later on.
Even though there was a thunderstorm just a few hours before the party, it did not dampen the staff members’ spirits. Many were seen laughing, joking and chatting as they got ready for the barbecue party. Senior director (corporate resources and planning) Michelle Loh aptly described the party as a “do-it-yourself team-building effort”.
Besides barbecued chicken wings, the party had sausages, meatballs, corn, sweet potatoes, otak otak, fried rice, beehoon, chicken rendang, salad, fruit and pudding for dessert. Needless to say, everyone at the party thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful buffet spread.
Spotted mingling at the party were HCK Group executive chairman Tan Sri Clement Hii, group executive director (corporate services) Leong Choong Wah, special assistant to EC Mak Ngan Hoe and director of finance Adeline Hii. Chief operating officer Foong Peng Yew, senior director (project planning and administration) Dr Dennis Ling and director (marketing strategies and alliances) Michael Lee from the property division also attended the do.
HODs from media and IT were also invited, such as director of technologies Joshua Law, HCK Media editors Chong Cheng Hai, Yeoh Guan Jin, Charles Raj, Toh Lye Huat and head of production, circulation and distribution Tang Chee Hong.
