HCK Group executive director Clifford Hii was named one of The 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneurs by Entrepreneur Insight.
Determined, confident, passionate, tenacious, visionary. These are some of the characteristics most, if not all, successful entrepreneurs have.
Entrepreneur Insight, a brand that focuses on start-ups and SMEs, feted Malaysia’s 100 most influential young entrepreneurs at a gala dinner in the St Regis Kuala Lumpur on November 11.
Clifford Hii, HCK Group executive director, was one of the recipients of the accolade. He was selected out of more than 1,000 nominations of entrepreneurs from a number of fields. According to the Entrepreneur Insight website, “the recognition acknowledges Malaysians under 45 years of age who made a mark in his or her industry”.
Hii, who is in charge of growth strategies and alliances, oversees the food division in HCK Group, which has the Jamaica Blue café under its portfolio. Under his leadership, the Australian café franchise has grown into a popular coffee brand among Klang Valley urbanites. Besides that, he also heads the group’s social media promotion team and works on group branding initiatives.
Other recipients of the award include violinist Dennis Lau, Datuk Ng Thien Ping of Skyworld Development Group, Zurich Insurance Malaysia Berhad agency manager K. Anandraj, magician David Lai, radio personality Chui Ling and actress Nur Fazura.
Hii gives credit to his past and present mentors for his achievement, such as SEGi University Group CEO Hew Moi Lan, former SEGi Group director Datuk Bruce Lim, SEGi Group president Datuk Azahari Kamal, HCK Property COO Foong Peng Yew, and his father Tan Sri Clement Hii, who is also HCK Group executive chairman.
Hosted by William Quah and Sarah Lian, the event was attended by hundreds of industry leaders from the business, finance, creative, fashion and entertainment fields.
