March 10, 2020 marks another milestone for Hiichiikok Foundation Home for Children Care!

Still clear in my mind on this day seven years ago, when Sundra Mohan and Sangeeta (brother and sister) walked into the home in the late afternoon, and the rest is history.  Fast forward to today, when I look back at our journey, I must admit that it is not an easy feat and what made me walked through all the hurdles and challenges is the support and trust from our dedicated team and the community at large.

At HCK Foundation Home for Children Care, every child is given the opportunity to be given the right guidance and education to reach their highest potential. We are constantly giving our best to love, care and guide these underprivileged children like our own children, exactly like how very parent would want to give their best to their children.

It is not an overstatement to say that it is our commitment to create a nurturing and caring environment for underprivileged children and inspire them to become contributing members of our community. It is also our hope that these children we cared for will be able to continue and spread the light of kindness to our society as a whole.

As manager, I must admit that oftentimes I stumbled and fell.  I almost wanted to give up when stress reached its peak.  However, the faces of the children especially those who are committed to make a change in their lives and have proved their commitment – I decided to take a deep breath and soldiered on.

Admittedly, what keeps my spirit high is that we have children who excel academically and received the Anugerah Cemerlang from the school for three consecutive years. These exemplary children in our Home have done us proud and brought home countless trophies and medals from various sports competitions and academic contests.

It is also worth mentioning that the unwavering support and encouragement from friends, supporters, volunteers, sponsors and donors is another jab of adrenalin that pulled me back into positive mode. Challenges are inevitable – looking at it positively is of utmost importance as every day presents us with new opportunities to grow and press forward.

A little perspective helps!
