HCK Capital Group Berhad has appointed Balbeer Singh Khaira as its new Chief Operating Officer.
As the COO, Balbeer will be overseeing the finance, human resources, legal, procurement, company secretarial and administration departments within the Group. He will also be assisting the operating units – property development, property investment, technology, media, and education – to achieve each unit’s strategic plans.
In 1986, Balbeer received his accounting degree from California State University at San Bernardino, USA and in 1992, he became a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Returning to Malaysia in 1996, Balbeer joined Tyco International as Financial Controller before moving on to the Sunway Group as the Senior General Manager of Finance (CFO) and later, the Group Chief Risk Officer (CRO).
His aptitude recognised, Balbeer was seconded to the Prime Minister’s Office under a new entity, Unit Inovasi Khas (UNIK), a strategic think tank driving innovation strategies and policies. Through UNIK’s recommendation, Agensi Inovasi Malaysia (AIM) was established by Act of Parliament in 2010 to become the implementation division for innovative initiatives.
Now that the Group has managed to draw in this new team member, HCK is definitely looking forward to new innovative strategies that will drive the company above and beyond.
