Hiichiikok Home For Children Care celebrated its 5th anniversary earlier this year. Having started with only a pair of siblings in 2014, it has fostered more than 50 children over the years.
Supportive sponsors of the Home brought cakes and sumptuous food to be shared with guests, children and staff during the tea party. It was the first anniversary spent in the new location at 2 Jalan Sungkai, off Jalan Ipoh, Taman Rainbow in Kuala Lumpur. The current venue provides a bigger space and more comfort for the children. Currently there are 17 children (10 girls and 7 boys) under the care of the Home.
Hiichiikok Home for Children Care provides support for needy families, allowing the parents to concentrate on rebuilding their lives whilst our Home concentrates on molding their children. Once these families are ready to provide for their children, they will return to their parents’ care.
Education and character building are the priorities of the Home. Some of the children achieved 1A, 2As, 3As and 4As in their UPSR examinations over the last 4 years and in the recent SPM examination they had a 2As achiever. It is not easy for these children from underprivileged homes to achieve such results. For this, the Home has to thank all the volunteers who spent their time and monies giving regular tuition and encouragement to the children.
Whilst it is the objective of the Home to see each child to university, not every child is academically inclined. Thus, other avenues are provided for them to shine. For example, one girl was accepted into a Sports School and another was sent to Montfort to learn baking, pastry and hospitality skills.
