Children at the Hiichiikok Foundation Home For Children Care were recently given a rare treat, which most of us take for granted. For the first time, they got to experience dining in a Korean restaurant.
Although they have not had the opportunity to try Korean cuisines, many of them are familiar with Korean culture, which has a big impact on the younger generations of Malaysians. The children were able to identify some of the dishes, having watched Korean entertainment and documentaries on TV.
The lunch treat was made possible by the generosity of the owner of the Yook Pal Pal Korean Restaurant in Ampang. For the first time, the children could savour kimchi, hot pot and Korean BBQ which they only knew from their friends or through TV. The restaurant’s specialty, fried tang hoon, was a hit among them.
