Peninsula International School Australia (Peninsula), one of the latest additions to join the Malaysian international schools’ scene, offers the Australia Curriculum, in particular the curriculum from Victoria State in Australia. The school will open its doors to welcome its founding students in January 2018.
At the helm of the school is Clive Rogers, Peninsula’s founding principal who has 38 years of experience in the teaching profession. He started his teaching career as a Physical Education (PE) teacher and his vocation allowed him to travel to many different countries, teaching students from different backgrounds and culture.
He is no stranger to the Malaysian international school landscape as he has worked for an international school here in the past.
“Peninsula International School Australia is a superb project built on a strong educational ethos and a global curriculum. Most importantly, parents now have a quality alternative to the Cambridge and International Baccalaureate (IB) Curriculum and have access to the high-quality Victorian Curriculum,” said Rogers.
Rogers will be joining the Peninsula team in their newly opened Enquiries Office located in Setia Alam in June. Together with the team, he will oversee the development and delivery of the Victorian Curriculum in Peninsula International School Australia at its Setia Alam campus. There will be no compromise in the quality and content as Rogers will make sure Peninsula’s curriculum and teaching methods match its partner, Peninsula Grammar based in Melbourne, Australia.
As a parent himself, Rogers is aware that most parents are concerned with the quality of teaching and the learning environment their children will be exposed to in any school’s setting. Besides looking into the Victorian Curriculum of the school, he and the Peninsula team will kickstart the hiring process for the teaching staff by conducting stringent background checks, making sure the candidates meet the benchmarked academic requirements. They will also look at the candidates’ international teaching experience and earmark those with strong pastoral care that incorporates out-of-classroom learning because Peninsula believes in the holistic development of every student.
Safe to say, parents are assured that their children will be getting the same standard and quality education as their peers in Melbourne.
