Business weekly Focus Malaysia recently held a seminar to help start-ups realise their potential. The “FocusM: GoStartup! How Startups Can Scale Up” event saw over 200 participants take part in the Sime Darby Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
Notable local entrepreneurs whose businesses that made a mark in their respective industries were invited to share their experience. They include Datuk Chevy Beh, the founder of BookDoc, who spoke on managing market disruptions; Fadzarudin Shah Anuar, the CEO of FashionValet shared his views on creating desirability and relevance in brands while Arzumy MD, the chief technology officer of Fave provided some insight on emerging technological trends.
Meanwhile, Crowdplus.asia CEO Andrew Tan offered tips on financial management for startups. One of the more engaging session for the day was a Q&A with Nazrin Hassan, CEO of Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd, a set up under the Ministry of Finance to provide seed funding to startups with potential.
