The HCK Group recently sponsored RM70,000 to the Ninth World Urban Forum (WUF9), an event held under the auspices of the United Nations to discuss sustainable urban developments and human settlements. Chief Operating Officer of HCK Properties, Dr Dennis Ling presented a mock cheque to the Local Government, Housing and Urban Wellbeing Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar during the event.
The week-long event was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and was organized by the Malaysian government. The forum saw experts from dozens of countries exchanging views on how to create livable urban spaces.
Held every two years, this is the first time Malaysia played host. The theme for this year was Cities 2030: Cities for All: Implementing the new urban agenda. Participants adopted the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on Cities 2030 after the event.
The HCK Group is no stranger to sustainable living. For example, its edusphere project in Cyberjaya incorporates eco-friendly features such as energy-saving bulbs, rainwater harvesting system and designs that reduce electricity consumption.
