SMR Properties Management Sdn. Bhd. had entered into an agreement in 2014 with Persada Mewah Sdn. Bhd. which is part of the HCK Group, to lease the two blocks of 5- and 9-storey buildings in Cyberjaya. The 487,000 square-foot buildings will be operated and utilised as Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) campus. This is part of CUCMS’ expansion plan to cater for more student intake and aim to provide the students a holistic learning experience with excellent academic programmes.
CUCMS was founded in the year 2005, operating at the current Main Campus with total 200,000 sq ft located at Jalan Teknokrat 3 which can accommodate 2,500 students. CUCMS has the distinction of being the only Medical Sciences university college in Cyberjaya, catering not only for Cyberjaya and Greater Kuala Lumpur, but throughout the country as well internationally. With CUCMS envisions to be a university of international standing and a leading medical institution in the region, this 10 + 10 years lease period shall poised itself as the leading medical university in Cyberjaya to produce competent and holistic healthcare professionals. This long-term lease shall provide Persada Mewah a sustainable rental income on its asset.
The University College is part of the 24.7 acres Roppongi Mixed Commercial Development which consists of the University College, student suites, serviced residences and retail. The Roppongi project is a joint venture project between the HCK Group through its subsidiary Persada Mewah Sdn. Bhd. and Roppongi Development Sdn. Bhd. The new state of the art University College is estimated to cost RM120 Million, will be equipped with modernised facilities and dedicated to provide a holistic learning environment. The new campus is expected to be completed in Q4 2017 and capable of accommodating more than 5,000 students.
